PAF Olomouc — The Festival of Film Animation and Contemporary Art starts on Thursday. The 19th year of the international festival is taking place between 3rd and 6th December 2020 with an online stream program on the festival website 2020pifpaf.cz and a series of exhibitions in public spaces of Olomouc.
Every day there will be one afternoon block of the stream dedicated to children and parents. There will be, for example, animated films for children from the Department of Animated Film of the Prague FAMU, or the interpretation of the book Splendid Tuesday by Daisy Mrázková, prepared by the musical duo Salvia. The collective Ateliér Duchů, affiliated with the Game Media Studio of the Brno Faculty of Fine Arts, will present the Video Game Periodical, through which they aim to open-mindedly expand the spectrum of game journalism in our country.
Dominoes is this year’s festival theme and its performers include, among others, composer Billy John Bultheel, artist and musician Jesse Kanda, theatre collective D'epog, music producers Relax Kevin, Lol K and ssaliva, filmmaker Andrew Norman Wilson, or artists Barbora Kleinhamplová and Natália Trejbalová. The festival stream comprises forty program blocks and combines live audiovisual performances, online screenings, discussions and radio shows. The city of Olomouc hosts nine exhibitions of contemporary art as part of PAF, which will lead the visitors, among others, to the carriages of the local public transport. They will also directly influence the public space of the city.
All this is available immediately upon loading 2020.pifpaf.cz. The stream will be primarily audiovisual, however, the organisers also encourage “ordinary” audio listening. Broadcasting via the Facebook, Twitch and Zoom platforms will enable one to participate in live discussions with other viewers and artists.
