Roman Štětina transfers his text-based artworks back into words. Four performances, three videos, three audio recordings, two lyrics and one exhibition. Adaptation of an adaptation. He often uses borrowed texts as a template for his works, the meaning of which he shifts with the help of various interpretive or presentation strategies. It is a mixture of radio broadcasts, professional studies, excerpts from novels and plays, free thought associations, observations of one’s own body, daily notes, recitations of poems and children’s descriptions.

Recycling as a new realism. Individual genres and speeches reached the same level through the transcription. It is similar to modernist typography, which did not use capital letters because they are not pronounced when speaking. The absence of a hierarchy offers a new reading. A method that leads to the assumption that we see the essence of life through things, and therefore a sentence uttered on the radio impresses us at least as much as a poet’s sentence does.
