PAF in Olomouc will be the first occasion of the contemporary visual arts' exhibition. Pavla Sceranková (SK), Jiří Thýn (CZ), Matúš Vizár (SK), Aaron Meyers (US), Martin Búřil and Zdeněk Durdil (CZ), Jan Šrámek (CZ), Anežka Hošková (CZ), Matěj Smetana (CZ) will represent the artists. The exhibitions and installations will take place in Konvikt, Gallery U Mloka and in the premises of 36.
For the last Olomouc city cinema "Metropol" PAF made the most intense festival programme.Peter Greenaway, Carsten Nicolai aka Alva Noto, The Little Witch, Mikeš the Tomcat etc are going to be on scene. Up to 540 seats for each show.
The premiere of Martin Arnold's new film Soft Palate (2010) will take place at this year PAF. Martin Arnold refused offers from Berlin, Cannes and Rotterdam, and chose PAF instead!
Accreditations and tickets to this year PAF are activated since 2010-10-25. It is possible to buy an extra ticket to the opening ceremony with Peter Greenaway and to the concert of Alva Noto in Metropol movie house. You can also book a ticket to the Peter Greenaways' lecture, because its capacity will be limited.
The British film director and the visual artist Peter Greenaway will be a guest of PAF. He is going to speak about his own installation projects, VJing and further options of the animation and film. Neither his introduction to the film nor his lectures will be of the same kind as those he had held during his two previous visits of the Czech Republic.
The Festival of Animation appeal on registration of films into the competition called Other Vision 2010. The curatorship of this year's selection of films was given to Sylvia Poláková who is theorist of New Arts. Films and videos can be sent to the address of the festival till November 10, 2010.

This year competition's curator, Sylva Poláková, was selecting from almost 80 films and videos; ten finalists were divided into three sections. This year PAF jury will consist of the American film maker and gallery owner Pip Chodorov, the head of the Vienna sixpackfilm Brigitta Burger-Utzer, and the Slovak film theorist and managing editor of "Kino-Ikon" magazine Martin Kaňuch. The award will bedonated by Adobe company.
The poster of this year PAF was for the first time introduced in Jihlava. Successively, it will be presented at various places in various cities: November 11 in Žilina, November 4 in Vienna, November 8 in Prague, November 9 in Olomouc, November 15 in Zlín, November 18 in Poznań, November 20 in Brno, November 22 in Lisboa, November 25 in Berlin, November 30 in Paris etc.
The Czech artist Daniel Pitín, whose film "Lost Architect" was awarded in 2009 within the Other Visions section, became a resident in Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, Peekskill, New York. Pitín is going to spend the whole autumn in the USA, and after his stay, the individual exhibition will take place in that famous institution.
Partnership project MEDIABÁZE.CZ is launching the video exhibition in the Café Tungsram, on September 29, 2010. Mediabáze.cz is the project focused on research, propagation and Czech audiovisual art distribution. Its outputs are continuously being released on www.mediabaze.cz and presented as the curatorial exhibitions and programmes in cinemas, galleries and other premises.
PAF 2009 graphic design, depicting an owl as a dominant motif, has been chosen to participate in the 24th International Biennial of Graphic Design Brno 2010 Poster, Corporate Identity, Informational and Advertising Design 22/6—24/10/2010 and is on display in the Moravian Gallery in Brno. The work of Filip Cenek and Magdalena Hrubá thus appeared among the works of the world famous artists such as for instance Stefan Sagmeister, Philippe Apeloig or Erich Brechbühl.
