On Thursday 24th May, 2016, the Prague gallery VI PER opened the exhibition Black Maria, conceived by the PAF Head Programmer Martin Mazanec. The installation of this exhibition project that presents diverse (non)standard architectural solutions for film screening was designed by Dominik Garajský.
On May 20, 2016 the artist Tereza Darmovzalová opened the 50th exhibition in Vitrina Deniska in the atypical role of curator. The opening of the Clover near Water exhibition by the performer Kateřina Konvalinová filled the alternative exhibition space on Denisova Street with beer, sausages and live music.
The largest show of Czech audiovisual art in Norway, two festivals of contemporary art, the commissioning of seven new artworks, a seminar for the general public in collaboration with the University. Those are just the highlights of the more than year-long project “Festivals of Live Cinema,” initiated by PAF–Festival of Film Animation, Olomouc.

In the first half of May PAF visited the British capital. Possibilities of future cooperation and presentation of Czech art was discussed with ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts), LUX (Artists’ Moving Image) and Deptford Cinema. The third 2016 exhibition held in Vitrine Deniska will take place from March 24 till April 17. The exhibition curated by Katarína Gatialová will present the installation by Ukrainian artist Iryna Zakharova.
A cycle of lectures about Live Cinema organised by PAF within the framework of the Festivals of Live Cinema project continues. The autumn seminars What Is Live Cinema? with Greg Pope and Kateřina Koutná and the Tomáš Pospiszyl’s lecture In the Light of Laterna Magika, which took place in December, will be followed by the lecture What is Film?
